Reporting to the Director, Mine Planning and Performance, the Mining Engineer helps produce the optimal sequence for the long-term development of the company's mineral reserves while protecting access to the remaining mineral resources.  The incumbent also takes part in the analyses necessary for the economic evaluation of the company's mineral reserves and resources. The incumbent is responsible for defining operational parameters and updating mining phase designs. The incumbent also helps support optimization and decision-making tools aiming to optimize operational processes.

 

The Mining Engineer will also be required to:

·        Design mining phases

·        Design waste rock piles

·        Update the MS-Haulage network

·        Monitor operations targeting the achievement of long-term objectives

·        Take part in environmental projects related to mining operations

Exigence:

·        Bachelor's in mining engineering

·        More than five years' experience in open-pit mining development

·        Excellent technological skills (proficiency using specialized software such as MS3D, MSHaulage, MSPlanner)

·        Good knowledge of the laws and regulations applicable to mining operations

·        Bilingualism (French and English)

·        Great ability to work as part of a team

·        Self-reliance and attention to detail

·        Flexibility to visit the site regularly

·        Behaviour focused on health and safety, leadership skills, communication skills and results-oriented
